Sun Blade Servers Overview
|Sun Blade Servers were originally announced in 2006 with the launch of the SunBlade 8000 using AMD Opteron processors and capable of taking 10 blade modules. Over time more models were released allowing both x64 and UltraSPARC processor blades. |
The blades support Solaris and various versions of LINUX as well as Windows and VMware. Oracle continue to market blade servers.
